The Monthly Accounts of the Union Government up to July 2026, released on 31 August 2026, showed total receipts of ₹13,06,709 crore, or 35.8% of the Budget Estimate (BE) for 2026-27. Receipts comprised ₹8,44,560 crore of net tax revenue, ₹4,23,013 crore of non-tax revenue and ₹39,136 crore of non-debt capital receipts. Total expenditure was ₹17,61,853 crore (32.9% of BE), including ₹4,50,635 crore on capital account and ₹4,26,566 crore on interest payments. Tax devolution to States was ₹3,72,354 crore, ₹56,190 crore lower than a year earlier.
