On 30 January 2026 the Ministry of Minority Affairs launched a Survey Module and a Waqf Property Lease Module on the UMEED Central Portal for managing Waqf properties.

The Ministry of Minority Affairs launched two new modules on the UMEED (Unified Waqf Management, Empowerment, Efficiency and Development) Central Portal on 30 January 2026: a Survey Module to record and update survey data of Waqf properties, and a Waqf Property Lease Module to track lease details such as period and amount. They were launched by Secretary Dr Chandra Shekhar Kumar. The portal itself was inaugurated by Minister Kiren Rijiju on 6 June 2025.
