The Ministry of Minority Affairs launched an Accounts & Audit Module on the UMEED (Unified Waqf Management, Empowerment, Efficiency and Development) Central Portal on 13 March 2026; Secretary Chandra Shekhar Kumar launched it. The module gives Waqf institutions a digital framework to record income and expenditure of Waqf properties. It also calculates the statutory contributions payable to State Waqf Boards and lets institutions pay them through the portal. The ministry said this would improve transparency and help collect funds meant for the poor, women and orphans who benefit from Waqf properties.
