Tur procurement under Price Support Scheme continues in nine States

The Agriculture Ministry said on 23 April 2025 that procurement of 13.22 LMT of tur under the Price Support Scheme for Kharif 2024-25 had been approved in nine States, with 100% procurement of tur, urad and masur to continue up to 2028-29.

The Government has approved procurement of tur, urad and masur under the Price Support Scheme (PSS) equal to 100% of each State's production for 2024-25, and Budget 2025 announced that such procurement would continue for four more years up to 2028-29 through the central nodal agencies NAFED and NCCF. Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan approved procurement of 13.22 LMT of tur (arhar) in Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh for Kharif 2024-25, and extended the procurement period in Andhra Pradesh by 30 days. Procurement is also done through the e-Samridhi and eSamyukti portals.
