The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) released its recommendations on 'Reserve Prices for auction of FM Radio channels' on 23 September 2025. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting had sought reserve prices for FM channels in 18 category 'E' cities and towns in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir to expand private FM radio. It also sought prices for Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh), Rourkela (Odisha) and Rudrapur (Uttarakhand). TRAI had issued a consultation paper on 1 August 2024.
