TDB funds Clearsynth Labs facility for bulk manufacture of deuterated reagents

On 12 June 2025 in New Delhi, the Technology Development Board (TDB) announced financial support to Clearsynth Labs Limited for a facility to manufacture deuterated reagents and building blocks at commercial scale.

Summary

The Technology Development Board (TDB), under the Department of Science and Technology, extended financial support to Clearsynth Labs Limited for a dedicated facility for commercial-scale production of deuterated reagents and building blocks, it said on 12 June 2025. India currently imports most deuterated solvents, which are in demand for pharmaceuticals, OLEDs, semiconductors and fibre optics. Clearsynth has an agreement with the Heavy Water Board (HWB) of the Department of Atomic Energy ensuring long-term access to heavy water.
