Jayant Chaudhary launches Swavalambini women entrepreneurship programme at CCS University, Meerut

The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), with NITI Aayog, launched Swavalambini, a women entrepreneurship programme, at Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut, on 1 March 2025. Minister of State (Independent Charge) Jayant Chaudhary launched it, and it was also launched virtually at BHU, the University of Hyderabad and Maulana Azad National Urdu University. Implemented by the National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD), it was first run at institutions in Odisha, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Assam. It starts with a two-day Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme for about 600 female students, then a 40-hour Women Entrepreneurship Development Programme for 300 selected students and six months of mentorship. Faculty get a five-day development programme, and successful entrepreneurs will be honoured under the Award to Rewards initiative.
