The Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2025 campaign, run from 17 September to 2 October 2025 by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DDWS), culminated on Swachh Bharat Diwas on 2 October 2025. According to the SHS portal, over 16 crore citizens had taken part by 1 October, cleaning nearly 14 lakh Cleanliness Target Units (CTUs) and 5 lakh public spaces. Over 1.5 lakh Safai Mitra Suraksha Shivirs were held. DDWS officials marked the day with shramdaan at the CGO Complex, New Delhi, after a review led by Secretary Ashok K. K. Meena.
