Toolkit for 9th Swachh Survekshan launched; 12 cities enter new Super Swachh League

Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal launched the toolkit for the 9th edition of Swachh Survekshan on 17 January 2025, introducing a Super Swachh League of 12 cities.

Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal launched the toolkit for the 9th edition of Swachh Survekshan, the world's largest urban cleanliness survey, on 17 January 2025. For 2024, a new Super Swachh League has been created for cities that were in the top 3 in at least 2 of the last 3 years (2021–2023); 12 cities have entered it: Panchgani, Patan, Vita, Sasvad, Ambikapur, Tirupati, NDMC, Noida, Chandigarh, Navi Mumbai, Indore and Surat. Cities are placed in five population categories, and league cities must keep a score of 85% or higher. Swachh Survekshan was first launched by MoHUA in 2016.
