The 'Swachh Sagar, Surakshit Sagar' (SSSS) campaign of 2026 will be a week-long nationwide coastal cleanup from 12 to 19 September, culminating on International Coastal Cleanup Day, Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh said at a review meeting at Prithvi Bhawan on 9 May 2026. The drive will cover India's 11,098 km coastline with Central and State ministries, research institutions, district administrations, youth groups and the Indian Coast Guard.
