Sonowal launches One Nation-One Port Process, MAITRI, Sagar Ankalan LPPI and Bharat Global Ports Consortium in Mumbai

Union Ports, Shipping and Waterways Minister Sarbananda Sonowal launched the One Nation-One Port Process (ONOP), the MAITRI trade application, the Sagar Ankalan Logistics Port Performance Index for 2023-24 and the Bharat Global Ports Consortium in Mumbai on 27 February 2025.

At a stakeholder meeting in Mumbai on 27 February 2025, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal launched the One Nation-One Port Process (ONOP) to standardise documents and procedures at major ports. As a first step, documents for container operations were cut by 33% (from 143 to 96) and for bulk cargo by 29% (from 150 to 106). He also launched Sagar Ankalan, the Logistics Port Performance Index (LPPI) for FY 2023-24, which ranks major and non-major ports in bulk and container categories; the Bharat Global Ports Consortium to widen India's maritime reach; and the logo of MAITRI (Master Application for International Trade and Regulatory Interface), which will operationalise the Virtual Trade Corridor between India and the UAE using AI and blockchain. India Maritime Week will be held in Mumbai from 27 to 31 October 2025.
