13th India–Sri Lanka maritime exercise SLINEX-26 concludes at Visakhapatnam

On 21 September 2026, the 13th edition of the India–Sri Lanka bilateral maritime exercise SLINEX-26 concluded at Visakhapatnam after running from 17 to 21 September.

Summary

SLINEX-26's harbour phase included professional exchanges, cross-deck visits and sports between the Indian Navy and the Sri Lanka Navy. The sea phase featured coordinated manoeuvres, air operations, night replenishment at sea and Special Forces drills such as Visit, Board, Search and Seizure (VBSS) and slithering. The Ministry of Defence linked the exercise to India's MAHASAGAR vision and Neighbourhood First policy.
