Summary
SLINEX 2024 (Sri Lanka–India Exercise), the bilateral naval exercise between India and Sri Lanka, was scheduled from 17 to 20 December 2024 at Visakhapatnam under the aegis of the Eastern Naval Command, the Ministry of Defence said on 16 December 2024. The exercise has a Harbour Phase on 17–18 December and a Sea Phase on 19–20 December. INS Sumitra, a Naval Offshore Patrol Vessel of the Eastern Fleet, with a Special Forces team represents India, and SLNS Sayura, an Offshore Patrol Vessel with an embarked Special Forces team, represents Sri Lanka. The SLINEX series was initiated in 2005.
