On 17 February 2025 Minister of State for Textiles Pabitra Margherita inaugurated SILKTECH 2025, the Central Silk Board's international conference on emerging technologies in the silk sector, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, as part of the Bharat Tex 2025 textile event. It was organised by CSB's Central Tasar Research and Training Institute, Ranchi, and Central Silk Technological Research Institute. The minister highlighted zero-waste technologies in the silk value chain and the muga and eri silks of the North East, and six MoUs were signed between CSB's research institutes and other organisations.
