Green hydrogen production capacity of 30 kilo tonnes per annum has been awarded for four public sector refineries under SIGHT Mode-2B of the National Green Hydrogen Mission, the government told the Rajya Sabha on 11 August 2026.

The National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM) has awarded green hydrogen production capacity of 30 kilo tonnes per annum (KTPA) for refineries under the SIGHT (Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition) Mode-2B scheme, Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy Shripad Naik told the Rajya Sabha on 11 August 2026. The allocation is IOCL Panipat 10 KTPA, Numaligarh Refinery 10 KTPA, BPCL Bina 5 KTPA and HPCL Visakhapatnam 5 KTPA. The projects are implemented on a Build-Own-Operate (BOO) basis by private developers.
