On 16 October 2024, South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), the Chhattisgarh-based subsidiary of Coal India, said it had inaugurated the country's 216th AMRIT (Affordable Medicines and Reliable Implants for Treatment) pharmacy at the Health Centre in its Indira Vihar Colony, Bilaspur. This makes SECL the first coal company to operate four AMRIT pharmacies; the other three are at its Central Hospitals at Gevra (Korba, Chhattisgarh), Sohagpur (Shahdol, Madhya Pradesh) and Chirimiri (Chhattisgarh). AMRIT pharmacies are a Ministry of Health and Family Welfare initiative launched in 2015.
