The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), a Navratna CPSU under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, has issued a tender for the production and supply of 7,24,000 tonnes of green ammonia a year to 13 fertilizer plants, MNRE said on 23 June 2025. The tender, under the SIGHT Scheme Mode 2A, Tranche I, has a last bid date of 26 June 2025, and SECI will sign 10-year offtake agreements. Under the National Green Hydrogen Mission, the government is offering incentives of ₹8.82/kg, ₹7.06/kg and ₹5.30/kg for the first three years, totalling ₹1,533.4 crore. India consumes about 17â19 million tonnes of ammonia a year.
