Summary
Sanjay Garg, who took over as BIS Director General on 1 November 2025, earlier served as Additional Secretary in the Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE) and Secretary of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), where he helped scale up the Kisan Sarathi portal. As DG of BIS, he will also be President of India's national committee in the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).
