On 14 June 2025 in New Delhi, School Education Secretary Sanjay Kumar flagged off 20 Indian school students for the Sakura Science Programme 2025 in Japan.

Summary

Sanjay Kumar, Secretary of the Department of School Education & Literacy, flagged off 20 school students for the Sakura Science Programme 2025 on 14 June 2025. The Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) invited 20 students and two supervisors from India for 15–21 June 2025, alongside participants from Malaysia, Taiwan and Ukraine. The students, 7 boys and 13 girls, are from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas and government schools in Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Ladakh, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura. JST runs the programme as the 'Japan-Asia Youth Exchange Program in Science'.
