₹100-crore Integrated Aqua Park sanctioned for Anantnag; model guidelines for cold-water fisheries released

Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Rajiv Ranjan Singh announced the sanction of a ₹100-crore Integrated Aqua Park in Anantnag district, Jammu and Kashmir, on 14 March 2026. He also released the 'Model Guidelines for the Development of Cold-Water Fisheries' at the first-of-its-kind National Conference on Cold Water Fisheries, organised by the Department of Fisheries at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC), Srinagar. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah attended. The aqua park is meant to strengthen aquaculture infrastructure, boost cold-water fisheries such as trout farming, raise fish production and create jobs; awards were given to fisheries cooperatives, progressive trout farmers, KCC beneficiaries and start-ups.
