On 11 October 2025 the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, launched the revamped Sugamya Bharat App at the Purple Fest in Goa; the launch was led by DEPwD Secretary Rajesh Aggarwal. Developed with support from SBI Foundation and technical partners NAB Delhi, ISTEM and Mission Accessibility, the app offers screen-reader compatibility, voice navigation and multi-language support.
