Government extends RELIEF export support timelines amid West Asia logistics disruptions

The Department of Commerce extended the timelines of Component II of RELIEF (Resilience & Logistics Intervention for Export Facilitation), which gives exporters ECGC cover with 95% risk coverage for shipments to the disrupted West Asia region.

Summary

Because of continued geopolitical disruptions in West Asia affecting maritime logistics in the Gulf, the Department of Commerce, by Notification No. 37/2026-27 dated 30 September 2026, extended the timelines under Component II of RELIEF, a time-bound intervention under the Export Promotion Mission. Component II encourages exporters to take ECGC cover for shipments to the specified regions with 95% risk coverage, and keeps the premium at the pre-disruption level. RELIEF was launched on 19 March 2026.
