India's GDP grows 7.8% in April–June 2026 quarter

On 31 August 2026, MoSPI estimated India's real GDP growth for Q1 (April–June) of 2026-27 at 7.8%, with nominal GDP growing 10.3% and real GVA 8.2%.

Summary

The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) released quarterly GDP estimates for the first quarter (April–June) of 2026-27 on 31 August 2026. Real GDP is estimated at ₹81.36 lakh crore against ₹75.46 lakh crore a year earlier, a growth of 7.8%, while nominal GDP grew 10.3% to ₹88.27 lakh crore. Real Gross Value Added grew 8.2% to ₹73.82 lakh crore. The estimates use the new series with base year 2022-23, released on 27 February 2026; MoSPI also released the National Accounts Statistics 2026 publication the same day.
