On 3 November 2024, the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution said that as of 2 November 2024, 90.69 LMT of paddy had arrived in Punjab's mandis, of which 85.41 LMT had been procured by state agencies and FCI at the MSP of ₹2,320 per quintal for Grade 'A' paddy. The Centre has disbursed ₹19,800 crore, benefitting 4 lakh farmers. Procurement for KMS 2024-25 began in Punjab on 1 October 2024 through 2,927 mandis and temporary yards, against an estimated target of 185 LMT, and will continue up to 30 November 2024.
