The housing comprises one tower of 60 dwelling units for senior sailors and four towers of 240 dwelling units for naval defence civilians, built by NCC Ltd, Hyderabad. Phase IIA will support berthing of a large number of ships and submarines and includes a Naval Air Station, a naval dockyard and four covered dry berths; the base will house about 10,000 uniformed and civilian personnel with families and is to be an IGBC Gold-rated project.
