On 1 July 2025 in Mumbai, Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders delivered Udaygiri (Yard 12652), the second Project 17A stealth frigate, to the Indian Navy.

Udaygiri (Yard 12652), the second ship of the Project 17A stealth frigates built at Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL), Mumbai, was delivered to the Indian Navy on 1 July 2025. Project 17A is a follow-on of the Shivalik-class (Project 17) frigates (static); seven P17A frigates are under construction at MDL, Mumbai and GRSE, Kolkata. The new Udaygiri is a modern avatar of the earlier steam-powered INS Udaygiri, decommissioned on 24 August 2007 after 31 years of service.
