President Droupadi Murmu reached Skopje on the evening of 20 July 2026 for the second leg of State Visits to Moldova, North Macedonia and Romania; the visit is the first by an Indian President to North Macedonia. President Murmu was received at Skopje airport by Timcho Mucunski, North Macedonia's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade. On 21 July President Murmu held one-to-one and delegation-level talks with President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova at Villa Vodno, the official residence and office of the President of North Macedonia, and called economic cooperation an extremely important pillar of ties, naming IT/ITES, agriculture, food processing, pharmaceuticals, textiles, biotech, tourism, hospitality and film-making. The same day President Murmu addressed the Assembly of North Macedonia, describing North Macedonia as a gateway connecting the Mediterranean with Central Europe. Minister of State Nimuben Jayantibhai Bambhaniya and MPs Dinesh Sharma and Vijay Baghel accompanied the President.
