Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi inaugurated the 435 MW Gorbea Solar Power Project, developed by Zelestra India, in Rajasthan on 19 July 2025. Delivered in under eight months, the project spans 1,250 acres and has a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). The project will generate 755 GWh of electricity a year, enough for about 1.28 lakh homes, and cut about 7.05 lakh tonnes of carbon emissions annually. Joshi said nearly 70 percent of Rajasthan's power capacity now comes from renewable energy, with over 35.4 GW installed.
