On 8 October 2025 in New Delhi, New and Renewable Energy Minister and President of the ISA Assembly Pralhad Joshi launched the curtain raiser for the Eighth Session of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) Assembly, to be held at Bharat Mandapam from 27 to 30 October 2025, weeks ahead of COP30 in Brazil. ISA, launched by India and France at COP21 in Paris in 2015, has 124 Member and Signatory Countries; on 6 December 2017, after 15 countries signed and ratified the ISA Framework Agreement, it became the first international intergovernmental organisation headquartered in India. The Assembly will focus on four pillars — Catalytic Finance Hub; Global Capability Centre & Digitisation; Regional & Country-Level Engagement; and Technology Roadmap & Policy — and release the reports Ease of Doing Solar 2025 and Solar Trends 2025. Regional committee meetings were held in Brussels, Colombo, Santiago and Accra. Joshi said India now has about 125 GW of solar capacity and is the world's third-largest solar producer.
