Tripura to get FCI regional office at Agartala: Pralhad Joshi gives in-principle approval

Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi visited the Food Corporation of India (FCI) office and the State godown in Agartala on 28 December 2024 during a two-day visit to Tripura. At a review meeting with Chief Minister Manik Saha, he accorded in-principle approval to the State government's proposal to set up a regional office of the FCI at Agartala. The release also noted that the Centre has extended its free ration scheme till 31 December 2028. Joshi reviewed food grain storage and distribution and MNRE schemes such as PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana and PM KUSUM in the State.
