Pralhad Joshi announces ₹100 crore call for biomass-based hydrogen pilots at ICGH 2025
Union New and Renewable Energy Minister Pralhad Joshi announced a ₹100 crore Call for Proposals for pilot projects producing green hydrogen from biomass and waste, and launched the official logo of the National Green Hydrogen Mission, at the 3rd International Conference on Green Hydrogen (ICGH 2025) at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, on 11 November 2025.
Summary
The new National Green Hydrogen Mission logo was chosen from more than 2,500 entries nationwide. Joshi said the Mission, launched in 2023 with an outlay of ₹19,744 crore, aims to decarbonise hard-to-abate sectors and make India a global hub for green hydrogen. MNRE Secretary Santosh Kumar Sarangi said the Mission is expected to mobilise over ₹8 lakh crore of investment, create six lakh jobs and save ₹1 lakh crore a year in fossil-fuel imports.
