Education Ministry launches PM-YUVA 3.0 to mentor 50 young authors below 30

Summary

The Ministry of Education's Department of Higher Education launched the third edition of PM-YUVA (Young, Upcoming and Versatile Authors), the Prime Minister's Scheme for Mentoring Young Authors, on 11 March 2025. It trains authors below 30 years of age to promote reading, writing and book culture. Fifty authors will be selected through an all-India contest on MyGov from 11 March to 10 April 2025, across three themes: Contribution of Indian Diaspora in Nation Building (10 authors), Indian Knowledge System (20) and Makers of Modern India, 1950–2025 (20). The National Book Trust, India, under the Ministry of Education is the implementing agency; it will publish the books and have them translated into other Indian languages. Selected authors are to be mentored from 30 June to 30 December 2025, with a national camp during the New Delhi World Book Fair 2026. The first two editions drew entries in 22 Indian languages and English.
