Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid foundation stones and inaugurated development works worth over ₹2 lakh crore in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, on 8 January 2025. Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the NTPC Green Energy Limited Green Hydrogen Hub at Pudimadaka near Visakhapatnam, the first Green Hydrogen Hub under the National Green Hydrogen Mission, involving about ₹1,85,000 crore including 20 GW of renewable energy capacity. The PM also laid foundation stones of the Bulk Drug Park at Nakkapalli in Anakapalli district, the Krishnapatnam Industrial Area (KRIS City) in Tirupati district under the Chennai–Bengaluru Industrial Corridor, and the South Coast Railway Zone headquarters at Visakhapatnam, besides rail and road projects worth over ₹19,500 crore. It was his first official programme in Andhra Pradesh after the formation of the government.
