PM Narendra Modi ceremonially hoisted a saffron flag (Dharma Dhwaja) on the Shikhar of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, at the Dhwajarohan Utsav on 25 November 2025.
Summary
The right-angled triangular flag is ten feet high and twenty feet long. It bears a radiant Sun symbolising the brilliance and valour of Bhagwan Shri Ram, an 'Om', and the image of the Kovidara (Kovidar) tree. The programme was held on the Panchami of Shukla Paksha in Margashirsha, coinciding with the Abhijit Muhurat of Vivah Panchami; the date also marks the martyrdom day of Guru Tegh Bahadur. The PM called the Dharma Dhwaja the flag of the renaissance of Indian civilisation.
