Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the centenary celebrations of Jain monk Acharya Shri Vidyanand Ji Muniraj at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, on 28 June 2025. Commemorative coins and postage stamps were released, and the PM recalled that the monk was formally conferred the title of 'Acharya' on 28 June 1987. The PM was conferred the title 'Dharm Chakravarti' on the occasion. He noted that the government has granted Prakrit the status of a classical language. The Union Cabinet approved classical status for Marathi, Pali, Prakrit, Assamese and Bengali on 3 October 2024, taking the total to 11 (static).
