The Virudhnagar park, one of the seven mega parks under the PM MITRA scheme, is being built at a cost of ₹1,894 crore on NH 44, about 106 km from Tuticorin port, and is targeted for completion by December 2027. The Cabinet approved the seven PM MITRA parks in October 2021 with an outlay of ₹4,445 crore over five years, as announced in the Union Budget 2021-22.
