Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually laid the foundation stone of the new building of the Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CARI) at Rohini, New Delhi, on 5 January 2025. The CARI campus, spread over 2.92 acres, will feature a 100-bed research hospital and is to be completed within 30 months. Established in 1979 under CCRAS, CARI has focused on clinical research in preventive cardiology and non-communicable diseases and had operated for many years from rented premises in Punjabi Bagh. Narendra Modi said India has immense potential to become the world's health and wellness capital and that the world will adopt 'Heal in India' along with 'Make in India'.
