Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the new Jammu Railway Division and the Charlapalli New Terminal Station in Telangana, and laid the foundation stone of the Rayagada Railway Division Building of East Coast Railway in Odisha, via video conferencing on 6 January 2025. The Jammu Railway Division covers 742.1 km, comprising the Pathankot–Jammu–Udhampur–Srinagar–Baramulla, Bhogpur Sirwal–Pathankot, Batala–Pathankot and Pathankot–Joginder Nagar sections. The Charlapalli terminal in Medchal-Malkajgiri district, built as a new coaching terminal at about ₹413 crore, will ease congestion at Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Kacheguda. Narendra Modi also cited the Chenab Bridge as the world's highest railway arch bridge.
