The 2024 scheme has 16 awards in three categories: Holistic Development of Districts under 11 priority sector programmes (5 awards), the Aspirational Blocks Programme (5 awards) and Innovation (6 awards). The Aspirational Blocks Programme, covering 500 blocks in 329 districts, is included in the scheme for the first time. Each award carries ₹20 lakh. Registration opened on 20 January, nominations open from 27 January to 14 February 2025, and the period of consideration is 1 April 2022 to 31 December 2024.
