Centre continues PM-AASHA till 2025-26; groundnut and soybean procurement extended in four states

The Government approved continuing the integrated Pradhan Mantri Annadata Aay Sanrakshan Abhiyan (PM-AASHA) during the 15th Finance Commission cycle up to 2025-26, the Agriculture Ministry said on 10 February 2025. PM-AASHA comprises the Price Support Scheme, Price Deficiency Payment Scheme, Market Intervention Scheme and Price Stabilisation Fund; the Department of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare runs the first three and the Department of Consumer Affairs runs the PSF. Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan extended groundnut procurement in Gujarat by 6 days and in Karnataka by 25 days, and soybean procurement in Maharashtra by 24 days and in Telangana by 15 days. Procurement of tur, urad and masur under PSS is allowed up to 100% of state production for 2024-25.
