PM releases coin and stamp on 350th Shaheedi Diwas of Guru Tegh Bahadur at Kurukshetra

PM Narendra Modi addressed the 350th Shaheedi Diwas of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the ninth Sikh Guru, at Kurukshetra, Haryana, on 25 November 2025 and released a special coin and a commemorative postage stamp.

Summary

The PM said Guru Tegh Bahadur established the ideal of courage during the era of Mughal invasions and sacrificed his life upholding truth, justice and faith. He recalled the arrival of three original forms (saroops) of Guru Granth Sahib from Afghanistan, and the government's work on the Kartarpur Corridor, the Hemkund Sahib ropeway and the Virasat-e-Khalsa museum at Anandpur Sahib. He noted that Veer Bal Diwas is observed every year on 26 December in honour of the Sahibzadas.
