On 18 November 2024 in New Delhi, the National Statistics Office released the Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) Quarterly Bulletin for July-September 2024, the 24th in the series. In urban areas, for persons aged 15 years and above in Current Weekly Status, the unemployment rate fell from 6.6% a year earlier to 6.4%, the labour force participation rate rose from 49.3% to 50.4%, and the worker population ratio rose from 46.0% to 47.2%. Female LFPR rose from 24.0% to 25.5%, and female unemployment eased from 8.6% to 8.4%. The NSO launched the PLFS in April 2017.
