Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal made an official visit to Liechtenstein on 7 January 2026 — the first ministerial visit of 2026 — to push implementation of the India–EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA). He called on Hereditary Prince Alois at Vaduz Castle and Prime Minister Brigitte Haas, met Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sabine Monauni and visited Hilti AG. TEPA is India's first free trade agreement with a group of developed countries, the European Free Trade Association (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland), and carries an agreed ambition of USD 100 billion in investment into India and one million direct jobs.
