The five-day drill simulated an outbreak of Influenza A (H1N1) in animals with potential spillover to humans and wildlife, testing the full chain from surveillance and laboratory diagnosis to containment and public communication. ICAR, NCDC, ICMR, the Office of the Principal Scientific Advisor, ICAR-NIHSAD Bhopal and AIIMS Bhopal took part. The first such drill under the mission, 'Vishanu Yuddh Abhyas', was held in Ajmer, Rajasthan from 27 to 31 August 2024.
