The Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) held its regional meeting of National Authorities for Asia in New Delhi from 1 to 3 July 2025; OPCW organises such meetings annually to build National Authorities' capacity to implement the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC). The CWC came into force in 1997, and the OPCW, its implementing body with 193 Member States, won the 2013 Nobel Peace Prize; India is an original signatory (static). The Indian Chemical Council was a co-recipient of the OPCW-The Hague Award 2024, the first chemical industry body worldwide to receive it.
