Op Drishti: Army eye camp in Udhampur screens 2,000+ people, performs 400+ surgeries

Op Drishti, a first-of-its-kind advanced surgical eye camp held by Command Hospital, Northern Command, Udhampur, from 18 to 22 November 2025, screened more than 2,000 people and performed over 400 surgeries, the Ministry of Defence said on 22 November.

Summary

The Op Drishti camp was organised with a surgical team from Army Hospital (Research and Referral), New Delhi, led by Brigadier S.K. Mishra. Surgeries covered cataract, glaucoma and retinal ailments for serving personnel, dependents, Veer Naris and civilians from districts such as Udhampur, Doda, Rajouri, Poonch, Kishtwar and Ramban. Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh and Army Chief Gen Upendra Dwivedi addressed the closing ceremony virtually, attended by J&K LG Manoj Sinha.
