The Incubation & Innovation Complex (IICON) of CSIR-North East Institute of Science and Technology (CSIR-NEIST) was virtually inaugurated by Union Minister Jitendra Singh at the North East Aroma Conclave 2025, as PIB reported on 27 January 2025. IICON offers 27 advanced technologies to startups and MSMEs, and agreements were given to 25 startups, entrepreneurs, NGOs and self-help groups to use it for up to two years. Under the Aroma and Floriculture Missions, CSIR-NEIST has introduced citronella, lemongrass, patchouli and chamomile across more than 5,000 hectares in the North East, benefiting over 10,000 farmers.
