North East Apprenticeship Pilot Scheme launched in Aizawl: extra ₹1,500 a month for 26,000+ youth

Union MoS Jayant Chaudhary and Mizoram CM Lalduhoma launched a pilot scheme in Aizawl on 20 May 2025 under which over 26,000 youth from the North East will get an extra ₹1,500 a month for one year over their NAPS apprenticeship stipend.

The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship launched a pilot scheme to promote apprenticeship training in the North Eastern Region in Aizawl on 20 May 2025, jointly by MoS (Independent Charge) Jayant Chaudhary and Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma. Over 26,000 youth from the region will receive an additional ₹1,500 per month for one year, over and above the regular stipend under the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS), whether they train within or outside the North East. An MoU between the National Skill Development Corporation and Welspun Living Limited was exchanged for an apprenticeship-linked skilling pilot in the textile sector.
