The NITI Aayog national workshop on treated wastewater reuse, held in Bengaluru on 6–7 November 2025 under NITI Aayog's State Support Mission, was attended by NITI Aayog Member Dr Vinod K. Paul, Karnataka Chief Secretary Dr Shalini Rajneesh and senior officials from eighteen states. Participants backed common standards to raise the use of treated water, and suggested using it for new needs such as data centres.
