The Ministry of Panchayati Raj held a three-day Training of Trainers (ToT) on Nirbhay Chetna in New Delhi from 17 to 19 June 2026 under the Nirbhaya Fund project. Nirbhay Chetna aims to sensitise over 17.5 lakh male elected representatives of Panchayats on women's safety and related issues, through a cadre of 28,500 Master Trainers. The training module was developed by Transform Rural India, and the pilot batch of around 40 master trainers came from six States: Assam, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha and Uttarakhand. Nirbhay Chetna is a key intervention under the Nirbhay Raho initiative launched on 11 March 2026.
